What type of (lawn) gr is most drought and heat resistant?

I want xeroscape and Sig. Other wants gr. Compromise: 2/3 xeroscape and 1/3 gr. We live at about 6000 ft. above sea level just outside of Denver, house is in zone 5. I want the most drought tolerant and heat resistant gr I can find so that I can restrict the watering!
